Pet Medicine is Also Cheaper Abroad?
Hi Friendos,
I’m taking a little time off this week, so today’s newsletter is short and sweet. You are surely familiar with the way pharmaceutical companies charge U.S. consumers more than for the exact same drug as what they charge people in other countries. They are milking us to increase their profits. Well…this might be true for pet medicine also.
I recently learned about a seller in Australia that will ship to the U.S. for about $10, and their prices on my dog’s medication for heartworm and flea and tick prevention are a lot better (no vet prescription required). A 6-month supply from my U.S. source (hint, it’s a massive online pet store the rhymes with Huey, Dewie and Louie) costs $202 vs. $100 from Pets Megastore in Australia – same brands, same amounts of the same active ingredients. That’s a big enough price swing to pay for a vet exam! Thanks for the tip Reddit; I will try this site out the next time I need more of this planned medication for my dog.

Hope you’re having some summer fun with your pets, friends, and family,
-Stephanie
